The project did take some doing. Copying Photoshop one to one to an iPad was not an option. To make such an extensive program work well on a touchscreen, the entire interface had to be redesigned. More compact because of the smaller screen, but with larger buttons so it could be operated with fingers or an Apple Pencil. A touchscreen requires very different controls than a regular PC or Mac.

In the end, an approach was taken where Photoshop on the iPad runs entirely on the original code of the desktop version of Photoshop. The interface has been modified, and the most important and the most frequently used Photoshop functions have been added one by one.
