Неправильное понимание категорий вещи, свойства и отношения неминуемо приводит к затруднениям и ошибкам при решении многих проблем науки, поэтому необходим тщательный философско-логический анализ этих категорий. Однако в нашей философской литературе им уделяется крайне мало внимания. Даже в сборниках, специально рассматривающих категории материалистической диалектики, о них не говорится ни слова. И лишь в книге В. П. Тугаринова «Соотношение категорий диалектического материализма» специальная глава посвящена вещам, свойствам и отношениям.
Настоящая работа имеет целью частичное восполнение указанного пробела. Не рассматривая во всей полноте проблем, связанных с вещами, свойствами и отношениями, остановимся на некоторых наименее разработанных вопросах, имеющих существенное значение для логики и методологии науки.
