The text highlights the designing of efficient, wearable, and textile antennas for medical and wireless applications. It further discusses antenna design for the Internet of Things, biomedical, and 5G applications. The book presents Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques for antenna design and analysis. It also covers radio frequency, micro-electromechanical systems, and nanoelectromechanical systems devices for smart antenna design. Today’s world is dominated by a culture in which interpersonal communication centered on the human body is the norm. Through its sensor nodes, antennas, and processing units, the Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is an essential component of body-centric communication. The WBAN can be used in conjunction with an external system, a system worn on the skin, or through theimplantation of a device directly into the human body. Therefore, it is commonly broken down into two subtypes: in-body and out-of-the-body. The body area network antenna is a planar antenna that can be used for body-centric communication and has the advantages of being flexible, bio-compatible, and lightweight. The substrate class requires a malleable substance. The conductive component must be comfortable and easy to wear. Both the range and the utility of biomedical antenna technology are extremely high.

Soft robotics is an emerging field that approaches robots in new ways, enabling them to operate in environments that are unstructured or unstable and to perform tasks that require delicacy and malleability. It's all about engineering with soft materials — silicone, cloth, balloons, flexible plastics — and combining them in different ways to come up with novel, approachable, and surprising solutions to interesting problems. This book introduces soft-robotics concepts to students, inventors, and makers with easy-to-understand explanations and hands-on DIY projects. The projects use a wide range of tools and techniques — including microcontrollers, 3D printing, laser cutting, mold making, casting, and heat sealing — to create intriguing soft robots and devices. It is tinkering at its finest! If a traditional robot is made of mostly hard components—for example, metal or plastic—a soft robot is a robot in which primary functional components of the robot are made of soft and flexible materials. These can be lots of different things, from fabric and paper to flexible plastics, silicone, and other rubbers. Even living heart cells have been incorporated into soft robots.

This textbook provides a quick and easy understanding of multistage interconnection networks (MINs) for engineers. The book contents focus on the design, performance metrics, and evaluation of these networks which are crucial in modern computer architecture. The contents equip engineering students, apprentices and professionals with in-depth knowledge and analysis of MINS, enabling them to build complex computer architectures for efficient data communications and cost effective solutions for circuit design. The book starts with an introduction to MINS and subsequently progresses to the evaluation of a range of MINS (SEN, Gamma-Minus, FTSN, FTGN, SEGIN). Tremendous advancements have been reported in the computer and communication industries due to the high demands of big data analysis. This led to the use of parallel and distributed processors to play a part. These parallel processors have to be connected to a large number of memory modules. The connection between these processors and memory modules must be highly reliable for efficient Big Data analysis. Multistage interconnection networks (MIN) provide data communication between processors and memory modules at efficient speed with reasonably high reliability.

This is the first book that sums up test-related modeling of digital circuits and systems by a new structural-decision-diagrams model. The model represents structural and functional information jointly and opens a new area of research. The book introduces and discusses applications of two types of structural decision diagrams (DDs): low-level, structurally synthesized binary DDs (SSBDDs) and high-level DDs (HLDDs) that enable diagnostic modeling of complex digital circuits and systems. In this book, we present a novel approach to modeling digital circuits and systems by graphs, constituting structural decision diagrams jointly representing structural and functional information about digital circuits and systems. The model allows multilevel and hierarchical representation to cope with the complexity of systems. The primary objective and the novelty of the new model is enabling uniform and formal reasoning of cause-effect diagnostic relations between the faults and behavior of circuit components to support digital test and verification solutions. The difficulties in developing analytical high-level and hierarchical cross-level approaches to test generation and fault analysis are related to missing suitable tools and models. The register transfer level models, instruction set architectures, dataflow charts or hardware description languages (HDL, VHDL, Verilog, System C) are not well suited for formal cause-effect reasoning and test generation, forcing engineers to settle for heuristic and approximate methods, which, as a rule, do not provide satisfactory solutions.
